The Ultimate Cheesesteak?  What does it come with?

I have eaten and reviewed over 1,200 different cheesesteaks.   I score them using my 5 category 100 point scoring system.

The 5 categories are;

  • Roll
  • Meat
  • Cheese
  • Extras
  • Overall

  I believe price and amenities add or distract from the overall cheesesteak eating experience.  I keep track of the cheesesteaks I’ve eaten, their scores, and my notes on a 36-column spreadsheet.  Each review has a 3ish minute video on my YouTube Channel; The Cheesesteak Life.  Right or Left Brain, I got you covered.

Here’s my latest review:

Worlds collided on Cheesesteak Tour Stop #1268 — and I was the lucky one in the middle! This time, we hit up Vi Va Pizza, a killer food truck parked inside Love City Brewing

How do I like my cheesesteak?

  • Roll – I want the roll to be M&M’esque.  Crispy crust and light airy bread inside.  I don’t want to bite my cheesesteak and everything shoots out the back.
  • Meat – I want a slightly thicker slice so I can taste the meat.  Chopped and tender enough so I don’t have to wrestle with it.
  • Cheese – Melted and touching everything.  Touching not coating.
  • Extras – Fried onions have to add flavor but not overpower anything.  A good mushroom adds good flavor to good steak. Lately, I have been getting just fried onions.
  • Overall – I like parking, sitting inside, a bathroom and an adult beverages.
